Die Ecke Arte Contemporáneo inaugurará el próximo viernes 10 Julio a las 19:30 horas la muestra BLACK COVER VERSION de los artistas Paulina Silva Hauyon y Patricio Gil Flood, la cual estará abierta al público hasta el viernes 14 Agosto.

La exhibición de Paulina Silva Hauyon y Patricio Gil Flood es un conjunto de piezas bidimensionales y tridimensionales efectuadas por dos artistas que conjugan la búsqueda de expansión de sentido poético-político desde exiguos recursos.

Parte del sistema parece ser sobre el origen o los orígenes, sobre el referente y la manera de abordarlo que plantea cada obra. Sobre el Infiltrado de imágenes de un supuesto colectivo acechante, de una amenaza latente. Sobre imaginarios desestabilazantes, sobre el poder de las imágenes.

Utilizan el negro como punto trágico, que incide en esparcimiento sobre muchas otras cosas. Yo elijo la oscuridad, una frase aglutinante en medio de un grupo de obras brillan desde las sombras.

Frases enlazadas con imágenes que generan historias con múltiples desenlaces, un relato de obras fragmentadas como una reacción en cadena, una pintura que trae de la memoria un cartel de una película, títulos que contienen todo un film.

La narrativa presente, sucesiones de actos, detournement *.
*Desvío, malversación, desfalco, secuestro, corrupción, rapto.

La muestra estará abierta al público de lunes a viernes de 15:00 a 19:00 hrs.

La oscuridad ha sido siempre objeto de atención para artistas, poetas, físicos, niños temerosos y melancólicos en general. Las zonas inhabitadas por la luz fueron estudiadas sistématicamente por Leonardo, quién en algún momento pronunció “l' ombra è privazzione di lucce ... l'ombra è di natura delle tenebre”. Sombrío, oscuro, negro son adjetivos que libremente empleados refieren a ciertos estadíos o destinos de algunos espíritus satunirnos.

El negro instala un sentido, sobre él, Patricio Gil Flood y Paulina Silva Hauyon edifican operaciones materiales, establecen referencias a veces literales, y otras herméticas, todas las obras se encuentran ancladas en otras obras. Eligen refererirse irónicamente sobre este punto cuando titulan la exhibición Black Cover Version, que al mismo tiempo funciona como juego de palabras sobre un texto anterior – que cualquier seguidor de Pulp o curioso con acceso a google podrá decodificar y quizá reirse del chiste.-

Un color – o su carencia- es el hilo constructor de tramas poéticas que giran alrededor de problemáticas como el estatuto de la ficción, la pintura como entidad material productora de narraciones, la re- definición del dibujo en objeto a partir de la línea.

Las variaciones espacio – temporales recorren este corpus que transita la ubicuidad absoluta y la incertumbre más nebulosa, es en ese espacio donde se abre el detournement , un desvío, la grieta en el horizonte de lo previsible.

También hay otras cosas...algo de criminalidad domesticada habita en estas obras, un eco de las palabras de Hamlet “en mí hay algo peligroso, que más te vale temer.”

Die Ecke Arte Contemporáneo invites to the opening of the exhibition BLACK COVER VERSION by artists Paulina Silva Hauyon and Patricio Gil Flood on Friday, 10th of July at 7.30 pm. The exposition will be open to the public until Friday, 14th of August 2009.

The exhibition by Paulina Silva Hauyon and Patricio Gil Flood consists of a collection of works both two- and three-dimensional, by which the artists elaborate the expansion of poetic and political meaning, parting with scarce resources.

A part of the arrangement seems to deal with the origin or origins, referring to how to approach the proposition of every piece of work. It is about the infiltration of images placed by an ambuscading collective, containing a latent threat. About destabilising imagery, about the power of images.

Silva Hauyon and Gil Flood use black as tragic reference, which dissolves in disseminations over many other things. I choose darkness - a sentence which aggregates a group of works that shine and sparkle out of the shadows.

Sentences that are connected to pictures which create histories with multiple denouements, a story of fragmented works like a chain reaction, a painting that brings to memory a poster from a movie, titles which all contain a film.

A present narration, succeeding acts, detournement*.
* Deviation, malversation, evasion, impoundment, corruption, ravishment.

The exhibition will be open from Monday to Friday, 3.00 to 7.00 pm.

Darkness has always been subject of interest for artists, poets, physics, fearful children and melancholics in general. All areas illuminated by light were studied systematically by Leonardo, who at a time said “l' ombra è privazzione di lucce ... l'ombra è di natura delle tenebre”. Shadowy, dark, black are adjectives which refer to certain stages or destinies of Saturnian spirits.

The black evokes a meaning about which Patricio Gil Flood and Paulina Silva Hauyon build material operations and establish references, which at times are literal and sometimes hermetic. All of their works find themselves anchored in other works. The artists decided to refer ironically to this detail when they titled the exhibition Black Cover Version, which at the same time functions as wordplay about a previous text – any fan of Pulp or curious person with access to Google can decode it and laugh about the joke.

One colour – or its deficiency – is the constructing thread of poetic plots which revolve around a set of problems like the statute of fiction, painting as material entity which produces narrations, and the re-definition of objects drawn on the base of lines.

The variations of space and times cross this body of work which combines absolute ubiquity with nebulous uncertainty and it is in this space where the detournement opens and reveals a deviation and the crack in the horizon of the foreseeable.

There are other things as well… something of domesticated criminality lives in this works, an echo of the words of Hamlet “yet I have in me something dangerous.”
